112.2. Authority to require connection to service utilities.
The fire code official shall have the authority to require connection of utility services
to the building, structure or system to a recognized service utility provider in order
to ensure the safety of occupants and the preservation of the structure. Utility services
may include, but are not limited to, water service, electrical service, gas service,
or any other utility service. The fire code official may refuse to issue any permits
until the owner of the building, structure or system provides proof of connection
to the utility service.
