§ 14-1013. PARKING IN ALLEYS.

  • (a)

    Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, no person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle in any alley for any purpose other than the loading, or unloading, of persons or materials.

    (b)

    The Traffic Engineer may promulgate rules and regulations for permit parking of an indefinite duration of delivery vehicles owned or operated by businesses adjacent to any alleys lying within that certain area bounded by Divisadero Street, O Street, Ventura Street, and Freeway 99.

    (c)

    The Traffic Engineer may limit parking to one side of any alley by posting signs giving notice of such limitation. No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle in any alley except as permitted by such signs.

    (d)

    No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle within an alley in such a manner or under such conditions as to leave available less than ten feet of the width of the roadway for the free movement of vehicular traffic.

    (e)

    No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle within an alley in such a position as to block the driveway entrance to any abutting property.

    (f)

    No person shall park a vehicle upon any property adjacent to an alley when any portion of the vehicle or its load projects into such alley.
