§ 14-203. EMERGENCY AND EXPERIMENTAL REGULATIONS.

  • (a) The Chief of Police is hereby empowered to place or remove or cause to be placed or removed signs, signals and markings temporarily to cover emergencies, special conditions or events. Such signs, signals and markings shall be removed or reinstated in such a manner to restore the original traffic control immediately upon termination of the emergency, condition or event unless otherwise directed by the Council.

    (b) The City Traffic Engineer is hereby empowered to make regulations necessary to make effective the provisions of this chapter, to cover emergencies or special conditions and to make temporary or experimental regulations. No such temporary or experimental regulation shall remain in effect for more than ninety days. In the event that after ninety days the experimental regulations have proved satisfactory, they may be placed into effect permanently by Council authorization. (Orig.
