§ 14-601. ONE-WAY STREETS AND ALLEYS.

  • (a) The Council by ordinance may establish one-way traffic flow on streets or alleys. Whenever an ordinance has established a one-way street or alley, the City Traffic Engineer shall place signs giving notice thereof. Authorized signs indicating the lawful traffic movement shall be placed at every intersection and when such signs are in place, the operator of any vehicle shall not drive in the opposite direction, and when parking on such a street or alley must point the front of the vehicle in the direction of the lawful traffic movement.

    (b) There is hereby established an official city "List of One-Way Streets and Alleys" established pursuant to this article. The City Traffic Engineer shall cause the one-way streets and alleys to be placed on said list. The City Traffic Engineer shall keep a record of all ordinances hereafter adopted designating such one-way streets or alleys and shall cause notation of such records and such streets or alleys thereof to be placed on said list in his office. Whenever the designation of such a one-way street or alley is hereafter amended, deleted, or changed, the City Traffic Engineer shall cause such fact to be recorded upon said list. Said list and the notation and the contents therein as they may from time to time be kept and amended pursuant to this section shall be evidence of the existence and legality of the one-way streets and alleys and the legality of the placing of the appropriate signing as hereinabove provided.
