§ 3-278. FAILURE TO RESPOND: WHEN DEEMED A DECLINATION. REQUEST FOR RESTORATION TO LIST.

  • (a)

    When an eligible certified for an appointment shall fail, within seven calendar days, to answer any inquiry of the Director relative to his availability for certification, he shall be deemed to have declined the appointment. If, after having accepted an appointment, such an eligible fails to present himself for duty at the time agreed upon, he shall, unless the time is extended by the appointing authority, be deemed to have declined the appointment.

    (b)

    A person whose name has been removed from an eligible list for failure to respond to a certification may request that his name be restored to such list. The request shall be in writing and shall state satisfactory reasons for failure to respond. The Director may, in his discretion, approve or deny such request.
