§ 6-319. PROBLEM DISCHARGES.

  • (a)

    Protection Required. Each user shall provide protection from accidental discharges, slug loads, or discharges that are otherwise determined to be non-routine or unusual in nature, that may cause potential problems for the POTW.

    (b)

    Protection Equipment Maintenance. Equipment to protect from the problem discharges listed in subsection (a) above shall be provided and maintained at the user's expense.

    (c)

    Protection Equipment Plan Review. Detailed plans showing facilities and operating procedures to provide this protection shall be submitted to the Control Authority for review, and shall be acceptable to the Control Authority before construction of the facility. All existing users shall complete such a plan as required by the Control Authority. Review and approval of such plans and operating procedures shall not relieve the industrial user from the responsibility of modifying the facility as necessary to provide the protection necessary to meet the requirements of this article.

    (d)

    Emergency Notification Procedure for Employees. Employers shall ensure that all employees who may cause or suffer to occur a discharge as described in subsection (a) above are advised of the emergency notification procedure.
