§ 6-339. SPECIAL DISTRICTS.

  • When a County waterworks, water, sewer, or other special district constructs sewer facilities within the district to city standards and commences receiving city sewer services as a unit, the lines installed by the district may remain the property of the district, in which event the city only shall service and maintain the lines, and the district may elect to bill the user in the name of the district and collect the sewer charges and remit the same to the city, in which event the user shall be charged the same as any other user outside of the city, in accordance with the rate schedule prescribed in Section 6-309(b). Where such district does not connect to the city system as a unit, or the district does not elect to bill and collect as aforesaid, the district shall dedicate and convey to the city all sewer lines owned or constructed by it. Nothing contained herein shall affect the right of the city to acquire any portion of any such system located in territory annexed to the city.
