§ 9-2401. DEFINITIONS.

The following words and terms used in this Article shall have the meaning ascribed to them in this section as follows:

(a) The word "tire" shall mean any pneumatic tire or solid tire manufactured for use on any type of motor vehicle or aircraft.

(b) The term "tire dealer" shall mean any person who engages in the business of selling, trading, installing or dealing in new or used tires for profit including auto dismantlers and wrecking yards.

(c) The term "Tire Processing/Transformation Facility" shall mean any facility that processes or transforms used or waste tires into products or commodities other than tires (crumb rubber, fuel, consumer products, etc.)

(d) The term "used tires" shall mean any pneumatic tire or solid tire manufactured for use on any type of motor vehicle or aircraft that could be resold or used for retreading.

The term "waste tire" shall mean a tire that is no longer suitable for its original intended purpose due to wear, damage or defect.

(f) The term "waste tire hauler" shall mean any person who engages in the business of collection and/or transportation of used or waste tires. (Added Ord. 92-63, § 1, 9-25-92).
