§ 401. MAYOR PRO TEMPORE.

  • The President of the Council shall serve as Mayor Pro Tempore. In addition to his or her regular duties as Councilmember, the Mayor Pro Tempore shall perform the duties of the Mayor during the Mayor's absence except, however, the Mayor Pro Tempore shall not have veto authority in the absence of the Mayor. If the Mayor Pro Tempore is appointed Mayor pursuant to subsection 305(d)(2) of this Charter, he or she shall exercise all of the powers of the office of Mayor until a successor is elected and qualified.
